Funnies

No pictures today, but wanted to remember some of the funny stuff the boys have said lately:
After preschool one day, Jonas brought home Mr. Munchy. I asked, "Did you learn about your tongue and taste today?"
Jonas: Yes
Reef: I remember when I learned about my taste "bugs" in Ms. Kellie's class!
He also told Troy that his taste "bugs" didn't like something the other day.

We were coloring castles on Sunday night because Reef was getting ready for the letter C at preschool.
Reef: Jonas, yours looks awful!
I did tell Reef that wasn't nice.
Me: Jonas, I think Ms. Kellie will really like your castle.
Jonas: Yeah, but Reef said it was "waffle".
I'm still laughing about that one!!

Last night the boys were hitting balls under the kitchen table with bowling pins to score goals and win medals.
Jonas, after finally getting one in: I "gored! And I get a "mebble"!

Oh, they make me laugh!

Faith like a child

For being only 4 years old, Reef conintually reminds of the kind of faith we should have in God. This boy will not go to bed without a bedtime prayer, and, if he's having a problem (bad dreams, hiccups, coughs), he will ask to pray about it. Last night, he even asked our friends, Brian and Emily, to pray for him to not have bad dreams.
Always, when he asks for those kind of prayers, there's never a doubt that he won't be answered! Oh, to have faith like that!

As a side note, Reef also likes to talk about what Heaven will be like. Last week in the car:
Reef: I can't take my toys to Heaven?
Me: No.
Reef: I can't wait to see what kinds of toys God has! I bet He has the BEST toys! I bet He has a big backyard too!

He's also sure that the food in Heaven will also be great. He's really hoping for Chick Fil A chicken sandwiches and peanut butter and honey sandwiches! Love this kid!

First Day of School 2010

The big boys finally started preschool on the 8th. I have been so excited for Jonas to have his own class to go to this year. He's been telling me for a month, though, that he's not going. Meet the teacher went okay last week, with him having a small breakdown when he didn't get the red ribbon on his bucket! He's also a little annoyed that his name doesn't start with R like Reef's!
This is my attempt at a first day of school pic. They were so anxious to get going that it didn't work out well.

Jonas and his teacher, Ms Kellie. That's his homework on the board behind them. I wasn't sure he was actually going to complete because it wasn't just like Reef's. But the promise of red and pink glitter brought him running to the table!

This is Jonas and his best friend Rylan. He talks about Rylan ALL the time and specifically requested that I take a picture of them together.

Reef also had a great first day! I just had a hard time getting down there to get any pictures. They both came home with rave reviews about the day, told me everything they learned, and really got a lot out of the Bible store time. Looking forward to a year of learning and fun!

Labor Day fun

Taylor and Jacob visited us for the middle part of Labor Day weekend. These boys have such a blast together! Both Reef and Jonas were sad when Jacob left, and Jonas still sometimes asks if Jacob's going to be in his preschool class.
Jacob was loving this bike and the helmet even more!

Reef rode his big boy bike for LONG time. This is a big deal for him because he usually quits when it gets hard or he falls. We were so proud of him!

Don't know what's going on here...

Tire swing fun!

Even more fun when Troy jumps on too!

Brook Hollow Park

After a record-fast dinner, we decided to head to the neighborhood park. Now that it's finally cooled down, we can enjoy it, and our yard was muddy after the rain. The boys had a great time running, climbing, and sliding.

Lachlan hasn't been to this park since he's been mobile, so he thought it was great.

We went on a small nature walk and tried to get a good picture in this tree...

Then we stalked this deer until he ran away. I can't believe how close he let them get, though!

Puddle Jumping...again...

After a big storm, we set off to the "Big Puddle" for some puddle jumping action. Our boys love this! Yes, I know it's a major mess and really kinda gross, but they get such joy out of it. We had to let Lachlan in on the action this time too.
Man on a mission.

They were totally soaked after 15 minutes but so worth it!

Backyard Swimming

For some reason, we haven't used our yellow pool much this summer...we busted it out the other day and had a blast! The big boys love to have Troy zoom them down the slide and around the pool. Lachlan is also pretty obsessed with the slide.
Love this look of anticipation from Jonas!

Rain!

Until recently, we were desperately in need of rain. A surprise storm hit one night during dinner, and these boys raced outside to play in it!

A new brother

A couple weeks ago, our neighbor, Chris gave his life to Christ and was baptized in the pool behind our house! We are so thrilled to have him as part of the family!

Brackenridge Park

A couple weeks ago, Erin and I decided to brave the heat and hit Brackenridge Park. The boys enjoyed it, especially the swings:
The 3 youngest took turns on the "baby" swings.
Liam

Jonas. Love that "cheese" face

Lachlan says "cheese!" now too.

Reef on the big kid swings.

After the playground fun, we crossed the river to eat lunch and feed the ducks. Aren't these guys cute? I know we're in for some trouble when they all get older!

This guy was very brave and REALLY wanted our lunch.

Lachlan didn't understand that this bread was for the ducks. He also ate bread off the ground and tried to get into the river!
