Poppy 8 months

Another month has come and gone!  In just 4 months, this girl will be one!
8 months brought some milestones, but not better sleep, I'm afraid. :(  She's actually gone backwards in the sleep department, waking up twice most nights.  We are considering crying it out through the night, but part of me is too tired to deal with that.  It's actually easy to feed her for 10 minutes, knowing she will go right back to sleep.  Plus, she's my last baby!  We'll see what happens there...
Poppy has started clapping and using her pincer grasp to pick up small things, especially things she finds on the carpet.
Poppy got her first ear infection last month too.  I'm hoping it's also the last.
Poppy started the 8th month with one tooth and is now sporting 4 pearly whites.  2 on the bottom (the usual ones in the middle) and 2 on the top (one in the middle and on the side).  2 more on the top will probably poke through soon.  I really dislike the teething phase.
Here are some cute pictures from the last month...
Laughing and showing off that first tooth.
What, Mom?  I am just eating this bib until you get over here with my breakfast.
Watching the brothers jump.
A big thing in the last couple weeks is that she can get up on all fours now.  She rocks back and forth but hasn't figured out the crawling yet.  She usually ends up going backwards.  Poppy has mastered the back to belly roll but is still working on going the other way.
Still working on that crawling.
Planking!
This is hard work, Mom!
Looking cute on her 8 month "birthday"
She was fussy one day, so I decided to see if she liked the magnet assortment.  It was a hit.
I see a mastery of crawling in the next month.  And hopefully better sleep too!

Mohawk Men

As my friend Lindsey said on Facebook, we have a "mohawk epidemic" going on here.  It started with Reef...
Then Troy got one at the Tough Mudder Race...
Lachlan followed suit.  But he calls his a "brohawk", which means "mohawk like my brother."

Jonas actually got a haircut too but hasn't had his picture taken.  He did NOT want a mohawk.  He likes to be different some times. :)

Club 66

Reef is a member of Club 66 at church now!  He can say all 66 books of the Bible.  We are so proud of him!

January Happenings

It's hard for to believe that January has already come and gone.  2012 is off to a sickly start at the Gibbins house.  I battled allergies and a cold for several days.  All 3 boys had pink eye, and Lachlan actually had it twice!  Poppy and Lachlan also each had ear infections in January.
We didn't let the sickness stop us from having fun, though!
Poppy and Lachlan enjoyed some Mr. Potato Head fun.  She loves it when she has the attention of her brothers!
We had a Wii playdate with Ethan. They loved it, and Ethan is catching on fast.
January was unseasonably warm, so we spent a lot of time on the trampoline.  Poppy likes to watch, although her new habit is to bunch up the blanket so she can get to the dirt and grass.
These boys do LOVE to jump!
The last weekend in January was the Ladies Retreat at our church.  It was in town this year, so I took Poppy with me.  The boys enjoyed a car show...
And then headed to Bass Pro Shop for some guy time.
They loved testing out 4wheelers, boats, and tents.
My grandma spent 4 days with us in January.  She played games, held Poppy, and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned.  We loved having her with us!
January 26 was Australia Day.  I wasn't with the planning this year, so we skipped the Outback and went with a sausage sizzle at home instead.  We had lots of people over and had a great time.
