Troy and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary back in December. There are no pictures of that occasion, and I'm not even sure we went out, BUT for Troy's Christmas present from work he requested a get away for us. So, for 5 days in January, our friends the Groves kept our crazy crew, and we headed out on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas!
Olaf met us in the terminal.
We had a balcony cabin and can really never cruise without one anymore!
Coming in to Nassau.
The big Atlantis resort.
We spent most of the day on the ship during our Nassau stay. Troy wasn't feeling well, and I was just as happy to lay by the pool and read.
The highlight of our trip was Castaway Cay, Disney's private island. It was fabulous! We spent the morning hiking and kayaking, enjoyed a (free!) lunch, and then spent the rest of the day at the kid-free beach.
Our friends the Boones were remembering the 1 year anniversary of sweet Atlee's death and planned to release these balloons. Since we couldn't be with them, we took ours with us!
The view from my beach chair.
Francie went searching for seashells.
We headed back to the ship to get ready for our fancy dinner.
We had a fancy dinner at one of the restaurants. I don't remember what was on the menu, except I know there was pea ice cream!
We stayed up late for the fireworks. Disney is the only cruise I've been on that does fireworks!
We had a great time and would recommend Disney Cruises with kids and without! We are ready to plan a trip with the kids next time!
