I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted! Late February and early March were filled with weekends away for Mom, first to ladies retreat and then to survivor. The boys enjoyed alone time with their Daddy and Gigi and Mr. Don.
March also brought major haircuts for all my guys, as you can see from this picture. I was so not ready for Lachlan to go so short! He looks so different now!
We also finally raked up our year's worth of leaves this last month. I raked several small piles, which the boys enjoyed scooping up and dropping them down the slide. After Troy took over the rake, they had quite the pile to slide into!
In March, I really noticed some changes in Lachlan and Jonas. Jonas sat down with a coloring/activity book and was very interested in the mazes, connect the dots, and matching pages for the first time! Lachlan has become very into his brothers' legos and loves to have his own group of blocks and men to play with.
Lachlan has also entered the "transitional item" phase, which usually means there's a blanket or stuffed animal they're very attached to. For Lachlan, it's a green ball that he stole from playgroup. It goes everywhere with him, but he's also expanded this transitional items to include a sheep, moose, and rhinoceros. His hands are very full these days!
I think this last month has been unseasonably warm, so we've had a lot of outside days. Some days I have to get pretty creative to get them out of the house. On this day it was close to 90, so some water play was in order. Their goal was to move water from that orange bucket to this green one and float out some ping pong balls.
Troy turned several diaper boxes into "garages" for cars and trucks. Obviously Lachlan thought it was better used to contain all of his favorite things. Can you see the green ball in the corner?
Troy spent last week in Houston and we were all so glad to have him back for the weekend! The boys decided a trip to the zoo was in order. It was a short trip because we had to be back for a delivery man but we still saw all the important things...
The lion statue...
And the butterfly cut outs....
And the alligator...
And the hippo jumping into the water after breakfast...
And finally the lorikeets (he really loved them, I swear).
Saturday afternoon we cleaned out last year's garden in preparation for this year's tomato plants.
