38 weeks

Just got back from my 38 week appointment. No real change in my cervix, so we're moving my induction to the 5th in hopes that things will be more favorable. I can tell that he's dropped down a little bit, so hopefully that's a good sign. I'm pretty bummed but do NOT want a c-section, and she thinks this is the best way to avoid that....So, August 5 is the big day now! Continuing to pray that he comes on his own before that though...

AUGUST 3....

is the big day! I went for my 37 week appointment today and made some progress from last week, so we were able to schedule my induction. I am now 1cm, 50% effaced, and have dropped some from last week. She said he looked good on the ultrasound and was only in the 84th percentile, so he should be smaller than Jonas was. So, baby is scheduled to arrive August 3 unless he surprises us! I'll be 39 weeks, so this will be my longest pregnancy yet! I am still hoping/praying he comes on his own before then!

Mom's Night Out

Friday night my AMAZING friends surprised with a mom's night out/diaper shower! I cannot tell you how shocked I was!
I had been planning an ice cream trip with Melynda for Friday that I had to postpone because Troy had a meeting to go to. Since I was stuck at home, Rachel said she was coming to hang out with me. Right after I got the boys in bed, Melynda showed up with decorations for Tara's shower that we were hosting on Saturday. After she unloaded her box, she announced that I was leaving with her! I looked at her like she was crazy and was, like, "I have Rachel over..." and Melynda said, "Rachel is your babysitter!" She was in on the surprise too! Good thing I hadn't changed into my pajamas yet!
Then Melynda whisked me off to Maggiano's for yummy desserts. I was even more surprised to see how many friends had come out to celebrate with me! I didn't have my camera but I'll post pics when Amy emails them to me.

July Fun

As I scrolled through my blog today, I realized that I am way behind on posting pictures. I guess I haven't been taking many lately, but we have been having lots of fun!
Troy's latest invention was putting our big slide into the old pool after making some repairs with duct tape. Jonas was a little afraid to go down by himself, Reef volunteered to "catch" him.

The fun came to an end when Reef put his foot through the pool! He's very proud of this!

I haven't had much energy for outside stuff lately, but I think part of my "nesting" this time involves arts and crafts. We spent a week talking about God creating the Earth in 7 days and doing a craft to go with it.

Here, they are each displaying their favorite craft of the week. Reef's favorite part of craft time is the gluing, I think, while Jonas' is definitely anything involving stickers. Right now we're working on Noah's Ark, so I'll post some pictures when we're done.

Why a 3 year old should NOT be allowed to add his own bubbles to the bath....

A new backyard friend, Mommy bat with 3 babies. She only stayed 1 day but the boys enjoyed checking on her throughout that day.

Other fun things we've been up to include weekly free movies, vacation Bible school for Reef, Sea World, and enjoying time with Troy when he's not working.
Things to remember about this month:
-Reef is very loving these days and tells us many times a day, "I love you, my mommy/daddy." So sweet!
-Jonas is rapidly becoming a daddy's boy and usually prefers Troy to me. This will be good, I think, when the baby comes.
-Jonas is cutting his 2 year molars right now. A little early but we're hoping the worst is past by the time the baby comes.
-Reef is working a lot on fine motor skills right now. He's getting a lot better at coloring in the lines. He's also really into puzzles.

Ultrasound Today

I went for my ultrasound this morning and baby is weighing in at 7lbs 3oz at 36 weeks and 4 days. According to my google search, that's average for a 39 week baby! His head is already measuring 39+ weeks too!
I'm not really sure what all this means since I don't see the doc again until Monday, and, if my cervix isn't favorable, we can't induce anyway. Hopefully things will progress and we can set a date on Monday!

36 week appointment

Well, my 36 week appointment on Monday was a little disappointing. I've had TONS of Braxton Hicks contractions and even some real ones, but wasn't dilated or effaced at all! This has never happened to me. I've always been at least a little dilated at this point with the other 2. It worries me that I won't be favorable for an induction. What will I do if I can't plan his arrival??? I'm just kidding about that since I would really like to go into labor on my own, but I was hoping that would be early!
I go in on Friday for an ultrasound to make sure he's not huge, since Jonas was huge, and then we will set a tentative induction date when I see the dr on Monday. Please pray for some progress because I really want him to come before John and Daphne get here, so that I can take advantage of all that help as much as possible!
I'm not sure if you noticed but I haven't called the baby by name at all in this post....well, that's because Troy's decided he's not sold on Lachlan (he did this with Reef's original name too, remember...). So our new name option is Kai...Votes and opinions welcome as we struggle to pick out a name for this guy!
