Joe's House

For the first week of June the kids and I headed to Conroe for 6 days.  Joe and Lisa were able to get us a condo at their timeshare just minutes from everyone!  Having our space made the vacation so much easier!
One evening we headed over the Joe and Lisa's for dinner.  This guy wasn't feeling great (he threw up in the car before we even left the resort-awesome), but he enjoyed watching Busytown on the porch.
These guys were so excited to get to play the Kinect again.  They were stinky and sweaty by the time we left!
Poppy was there too; she wandered around and repeatedly checked on the dog though she didn't want to get too close.
Thanks guys, we had a great time!

May dates

May was another of those really busy months, so I think we squeezed our dates in at the last minute.
Reef chose an out to eat date with Mommy.  We headed to Chuy's, where he was excited to order off the menu instead of having to stick with the happy hour free food.
Our table neighbors took our picture.
He really wanted dessert, so I surprised him with a shake at Sonic.  As a side note, neither of us recommend the caramel shake.
Jonas chose a movie night and was excited to stay up past Reef and get mommy and daddy all to himself.
He chose the How to Train Your Dragon episodes from Redbox.
Lachlan also chose a movie night.  He was really excited about his caramel popcorn.
He was so into the movie that the popcorn almost went into his nose!
Lachlan's current obsession is Busytown, so that's what he chose for his movie night.
Poppy went on a ketchup-buying-date with Daddy.  She had a good time and was proud to show me her purchases!

While it is sometimes hard to get it all in, we are both enjoying our one-on-one time with the kids!

Phil Hardberger Park playgroup

The month of May found many members of our playgroup travelling, so Kristin and I planned several park dates.  One day we tried out the other playground at Phil Hardberger.  The kids enjoyed it, but we were worn out keeping up with them as there are several play areas pretty far apart.
I was so glad Peyton could join us!
 Giddyup, horsey!
This little kid playground was really good for Lachlan.
Jonas could do these short monkey bars, so I'm sure we'll be doing the big ones in no time.
Peyton and Lachlan were BFF's this day!
Reef and Isaiah was there too, along with Wee and her girls, but I never managed to get a picture of them.  They spent a lot of time on the merry go round.

The zip line

A zip line has long been a dream for Troy.  The Craftons just got one, so that spurred him to get to work on ours.  I had my reservations, but the kids have enjoyed it a lot.
The final parts came in while the Mathenys were over for dinner.  Of course, Troy and Philip got to work getting it ready.
The daddies tested it to see how much weight it could hold.
This might have been Emily's first ride.  Her face says it all!

Daniel loved it and asked to do it again.
Poppy also tried it, but she didn't love it as much.
I guess Titus zipped by too fast for any pictures of him, and Lachlan had NO interest in that thing!

Zoo Trip

At the end of May, lots of our friends planned a trip to the zoo, so we decided to join them.
First we took our usual trip on the lions.
Then we checked out the bears.
They love these butterfly cut outs.  We really need to take the time to visit the butterfly house.
This guy needs to be a little taller.
The gibbons know who their people are!
Always a picture on the elephant.
The whole crew!  That's 12 kids; there were 5 mommies.  KC showed up not long after this with her 2 plus Ryland!
We were tired after chasing this crew all morning!

Jesus walks on water

Our very last Bible lesson of the year was Jesus walks on water and Jesus calms the storm.  We spent the morning re-enacting it with this fabulous ship that I made!

Mother's Day 2013

The kids were SURE that I wanted doughnuts for Mother's Day this year!  Troy got them all up early to head to the shop for my faves....
But, what I really wanted was this:
I can tell you that all those chocolates didn't last long!  They were so good!
