Princess store

One of the mornings that the boys had reading camp, Poppy and I headed to the mall in search of the elusive Elsa doll.  It wasn't there, but she did get to be princess of the day and open the store for everyone!

Peyton's Party

We were so excited to go Peyton's birthday party at the Magik Theater.  We took Reef and Jonas when they were little, but this was the first time for Poppy and Lachlan!  They loved the show!

Zoo Date with Lily

The boys went to 2 reading camps in the summer.  Poor Poppy was too little for both!  One morning we stole Lily and headed to the zoo!  It's fun to do the zoo with 2 little girls who still think everything is amazing!

They got to ride the carousel, which has tons of cool animals to choose from!

We had such a good time and hope to do it again soon!

HEB date

One day last summer, Poppy and I had a playdate at Chick Fil A with her friend Jesse.  After lunch we headed to HEB to grab some groceries.  It was customer appreciation day and this girl scored a crown, wand, AND got her face painted!  Our next trip to HEB had a lot to live up to!

Poppy's 3rd birthday!

Our sweet Poppy turned 3 on June 3!  I thought this year would be the year for fun, girly party, but instead we were in Mexico.

She celebrated early with the Torres fam and got this princess cupcake game.  Obviously everyone in the family loves it.

She also got these fun princesses from Gigi and Mr. Don.  I love that she can change the clothes all by herself!

For her birthday, we had packed her present and then did a great wrapping job at our house.

After a morning at Ciudad, the sun came out enough for the birthday girl to get in a swim.

That evening we had a team dinner in a restaurant.  Sweet Sara made our girl cupcakes!

 

The whole team sang Happy Birthday to her!  She was surrounded by all her favorite teeanagers!

Do you see that all her favorite people are boys??? We are going to have our work cut out for us as she gets older!

I would say that this is the face of a very happy birthday girl!

Preschool Program 2014

In May, Poppy and Lachlan had their end-of-year Preschool Program.

Lachlan is an old pro at this now.

 This is his whole class with his teacher Ms. Berta.

 Poppy, on the other hand, was very serious about her job on stage.

 This is her whole class.

 Lachlan's class had a special graduation ceremony.  He refers to this as his "first preschool graduation" since he is going again this year for a "gift of time" class.

 At the end of the program, we said goodbye to longtime director, Ms. Theresa.  She did a great job running the preschool and it was sad to see her go.  Lucky for us, she lives close by and we still get to see her lots!

It was a great end to a great year of preschool!

Mother-Daughter Brunch 2014

Northside hosted a Frozen-themed Mother-Daughter brunch for Mother's Day this year.  Of course we signed up because we love all things Frozen!  Gigi was able to join us for this special occasion.

Poppy had a pretty new dress to wear from Gigi, and Erin gave her "fancy" hair.

She had to bring her purse and baby Elsa with her!

There were so many fun activities at the "Frozen lunch"!

She loved all the accessories that were provided!

And we took a fun picture all together!

This girl keeps me on my toes!

This child tests me in ways her brothers never did!

For example, she insisted on wearing this school one day, breaking several of the dress code rules.  I made "parent of the year" that day, I'm sure.

She needed a drink, so this was the obvious solution.

If she's like this at 2, I'm not sure we will survive till 18!

Poppy's First Haircut

Poppy got her first haircut earlier this year!  She requested that her daddy take her.  She went in like this:

Her first haircut was so different from the boys, who cried through the whole thing.  She loved every minute of pampering at Great Clips!

And came back like this!

It was much easier to brush, but I was sad it was so short.  And those bangs are killing me as they grow out and are always in her face!

Pirate Party

The kids were invited to a fun pirate birthday party in February.  The big kids had another party to go to, but these guys were dressed in costume and had a great time!

A few weeks later she and I had a movie date, complete with popcorn and the Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That.

Back to Preschool 2013

We were so excited for Preschool to start again!  It had been a LONG summer of missing those sweet teachers!
Lachlan is in Ms. Roberta’s class this year. It is no surprise that he loves every minute since he is in class with his 2 besties.

For homework, he had to decorate an L.  He went with a Spiderman theme and did all the work on his own.

Because you can’t have the camera out and not take her picture…

Poppy had to decorate a person for Ms. Coco’s class.  This was my first year making this little person a girl!  She was very proud of her work, but we had to hide if from her since the beads kept disappearing…

Poppy and Ms. Coco.  Don’t let that semi-smile fool you; there were tears on day 1 as she didn’t have any friends in her class.  It was tough to leave her crying, but she made friends quickly!
